Dear SoftPro Pro1099 Customer,
Last year, the IRS made a change to their FIRE system login. As of September 2021, the IRS now requires all 1099 filers to enter their TCC, EIN, and Business Name exactly as it currently appears in the FIRE system. To avoid a validation error and denied access to FIRE, we recommend logging into the FIRE site as soon as possible, prior to this year's March 31, 2023 1099 filing deadline at: https://FIRE.IRS.GOV.
Below is a screen shot of the IRS FIRE System Logon screen.
If any of the information entered is invalid, the error "information provided is not correct" will appear. The IRS can assist with resolving the issue.
- If the issue is UserID, Password, PIN TCC, TaxID or Secret Phrase, contact the IRS at 866-455-7438.
- If the issue is Company Name, contact the IRS Business Specialty Tax Line at
800-829-4933.
Again, we strongly encourage you to log into the IRS FIRE System well in advance of the March 31, 2023 1099 filing deadline in order to resolve any login issues prior to filing.
