Saved You a Seat Episode 3: Bet You Didn't Know...Tips, Tricks & Tools for Your SoftPro Software

We received several questions from our webinar on Tips, Tricks & Tools for making the most out of your SoftPro software. Check out our list of questions and responses below.

1. Can you undo a group of check numbers that ProTrust thinks were printed, but they were not?

  • Answer: The Check Renumbering feature can be used to renumber a range of posted checks. This feature is unavailable in Standard 21. 

2. Sometimes I notice that not all fields I have put into a look up table pull every time. For example, on a lender, it won't pull the LO NMLS number, but will pull everything else. Is this just an issue specific to me?

  • Answer: This may be an issue with the table structure. The look up table structure would need to be modified to include the LO NMLS number field as a column for the info to save to the look up table. You can do this yourself in Standard/Enterprise and can call Support for assistance for Select. 
3. Where will attachments save to? Is it a cloud-based system, or can it be set up to save to an in-house system?
  • Answer: It is saved to your own server or network. The only time it would be cloud-based is if you were utilizing our Hosted solution or a third-party vendor for cloud-based storage.
4. Where is the toggle tool for Select?
  • Answer: The toggler needs to be installed. Please contact SoftPro Support to assist you with this.
5. Is SoftPro LIVE an add-on?

6. Could you show us a quick way to sign docs inside of attachments?

  • Answer: This can be done through Annotations - your signature would need to uploaded into SPAdmin in order to be available within Annotations.
7. Is there a shortcut for date and time on Select?
  • Answer: If your cursor is within the Date field, use the up or down arrow keys - this will date and timestamp for the current date and time.
8. How about date and timestamp on notes?
  • Answer: Standard/Enterprise - Press CTRL+A to add a date, time and user name stamp. Press CTRL+D for date only, CTRL+T for time only, and CTRL+U for user only. Select - When the user entering a note completes the note and clicks "OK" it will date/timestamp and enter the user's name for that specific note that was added.
9. Can you email different attachments that are from the different folders in the attachments? Such as: I have 1 attachment in the title work folder, but an attachment in the closing folder. 
  • Answer: Yes you can. You can find more information on this on ou F1 Help site. Information on how to access F1 Help can be found at the bottom of this Q&A. 
10. What is the quickest way to change a Cash file to a Purchase/Lender file in Select?
  • Answer: Manually change the effected fields and add a Lender Contact.
11. Where can I get a list of the snippets for automation in Select?
  • Answer: F1 Help has videos and/or job aids for automation along with the most commonly used processes. Information on how to access F1 Help can be found at the bottom of this Q&A. 
12. On the multi order view slide of the presentation (slide 16), what appears on the left side with the numbers in the boxes?
  • Answer: This is called the Dashboard and requires installation. Please contact SoftPro Support for assistance.
13. Where is the Order Transactions screen located?
  • Answer: The Order Transactions screen in Select is within the Escrow/Closing section towards the bottom near the Order Balance screen.
14. Will the email attachments use your default email? For example, we use Thunderbird, or does it only go to Outlook?
  • Answer: Currently it only defaults to Outlook.
15. Can you overlay an existing data file into a new template file?
  • Answer: Yes you can. Simply create a new template and then use the overlay feature to choose and overlay the data file you want in your new template.
16. What version of ProForm are you using for this webinar? I have Standard and I'm not showing this icon.
  • Answer: You are likely on an older version of Standard which is why you do not see the Attachments icon. Please contact SoftPro Support for assistance in upgrading to the most current version.
17. Is automation for Select only or is it in Standard?
18. The pre-filled recording fee info is incorrect in my system, how can I update the recording fee info that is outdated?
  • Answer: Contact SoftPro Support for assistance. We have a Rates & Fees team that can help you with this!
19. Do we contact SoftPro or the underwriter directly if we want a change in jacket selection order in SoftPro 360, as each underwriter jacket selection is different?
  • Answer: The order of jackets in the SoftPro 360 integration is alphabetical. You can change which providers are visible, but not the actual order that they appear. If you need further assistance, please contact SoftPro Support.
20. Is there a way to get certain endorsements automatically checked with an underwriter in SoftPro 360?
  • Answer: If endorsements are selected in the ProForm file, they should show as selected in the SoftPro 360 integration.
21. When you email from SoftPro, does the email get saved anywhere in the SoftPro file?
  • Answer: No it doesn't. It would have to be manually added as an attachment.
22. Is there anything in the works for Enterprise to allow multiple attachments to be emailed at once?
  • Answer: Yes. Not sure what the timeline is yet, but stay tuned!
23. When Validate is chosen, does it only prompt when the entry does NOT exist?
  • Answer: Correct – it will only prompt when the entry does not exist in the table.
24. Can you show us how to email an attachment?
  • Answer: There is a job aid in F1 Help that you can reference. Information on how to access F1 Help can be found at the bottom of this Q&A. 
25. Can we delete more than 1 item at a time in SPImage?
  • Answer: Yes. After adding documents you will see a checkbox next to each document. You can check multiple to remove.
