How do I access the Exceptions Reports?

  1. Visit the SoftPro Documents Portal
  2. Log in with your mySoftPro or SoftPro 360 credentials or click "Sign Up" to create a login
  3. Once logged in, click "Browse All" from the menu on the left
  4. Click on "National Packages"
  5. Find the package named "Default Documents and Reports" and click "Download"
  6. Install the Bundle in SP Admin. For information on how to do this, visit the "Videos & FAQs" page in the Documents Portal

  Run the reports often; you'll want to review and clear exceptions before you submit your 1099 information to the IRS

  Nov - March

  Update your Tax Year Script - view instructions

  January – March                    

  Resolve any outstanding exceptions and submit to the IRS


Important Pre-Filing Information 

If you are filing your 1099 record electronically for the first time, you will need to fill out an IR application for TCC via IRS.gov. You can create a FIRE login account here beginning on January 8, 2024.

Filing Deadlines for Electronic Filing Only

February 15, 2024: Recipient (Seller) Copy

April 1, 2024: IRS Submission

May 2, 2024: Final date to file with an extension. How to file an extension for Tax Year 2023.

*Please Note: SoftPro suggests creating a 2023 IRS TAX file in early 2024 to ensure you have all 2023 purchases finalized and the IRS FIRE site is accepting 2023 IRS TAX files. 

FIRE TCC (Filing Information Returns Electronically Transmitter Control Code) holders who submitted their TCC Application prior to September 26, 2021, must complete and submit a new TCC application.
