UPDATE RE: Important Notice Affecting Your 2021 1099-S Filings

Dear SoftPro Customer,

As noted in an email last week, we recently learned about an IRS change affecting tax year 2021 electronic 1099-S submission files. We have successfully applied the newly required script, so you may now proceed to download and run the new script update and electronically submit your 2021 1099-S file. Even if you previously completed the 2021 1099 update, this new script update is required in order to successfully submit your 2021 filings. If you had already uploaded your 2021 1099-S file to the IRS and received a failure notification, you will need to resubmit after you have run the new script update.

To run the new script update, simply log in to the SoftPro 360 Console, select "Add Ins" from the list of available services, then select “SoftPro – 1099 Updater.” Once you have run the newly required script, you may proceed with your 2021 1099-S submission. Note: Pro1099 should be closed before running the Tax Year Update.

If you have not yet registered with SoftPro 360, visit this page for more information on how to register and get access to the newly required 1099 script update. Once registered, your update is just a few clicks away!

*Please Note: The IRS now requires all 1099 filers to enter their TCC, EIN, and Business Name exactly as it currently appears in the FIRE system. To avoid a validation error and denied access to FIRE, we recommend logging into the FIRE site as soon as possible, prior to the March 31, 2022 1099 filing deadline. Find more info on this change here.
