ATTENTION CUSTOMERS:

An IRS change affecting tax year 2021 electronic 1099-S submission files will require you to apply a new script update before you can complete and submit your 1099-S filings to the IRS. For more information, click here.

1099 Information for SoftPro Standard & Enterprise Users

Substitute 1099-S Forms: Updated by the IRS in January 2017

The updated forms contain a box that should be checked if the transferor (seller) is a foreign person. This is a different concept than a foreign address, since a US citizen could have a foreign address or vice versa. If your 1099-S forms are missing the field, "X here if foreign person", contact SoftPro Support for assistance.

*Please Note: SoftPro suggests creating a 2021 IRS TAX file in early 2022 to ensure you have all 2021 purchases finalized and the IRS FIRE site is accepting 2021 IRS TAX files.

The IRS now requires all 1099 filers to enter their TCC, EIN, and Business Name exactly as it currently appears in the FIRE system. To avoid a validation error and denied access to FIRE, we recommend logging into the FIRE site as soon as possible, prior to the March 31, 2022 1099 filing deadline. Find more info on this change here.
