1099 Information for SoftPro Select Users

Now is the time to begin your 2022 1099 filings! A 1099 update is required in your SoftPro software before you can complete your submissions. You can complete this update on your own by following the instructions below:

What 1099 Exceptions Reports do I need?

How do I access the Exceptions Reports?

  1. Visit the SoftPro Documents Portal
  2. Log in with your mySoftPro or SoftPro 360 credentials or click "Sign Up" to create a login
  3. Once logged in, click "Browse All" from the menu on the left
  4. Click on "National Packages"
  5. Find the package named "Default Documents and Reports" and click "Download"
  6. Install the Bundle in SP Admin. For information on how to do this, visit the "Videos & FAQs" page in the Documents Portal

  Run the reports often; you'll want to review and clear exceptions before you submit your 1099 information to the IRS

  Resolve any outstanding exceptions and submit to the IRS


Important Pre-Filing Information 

If you are filing your 1099 record electronically for the first time, you will need to fill out an IR application for TCC via IRS.gov. You can create a FIRE login account here beginning on January 5, 2023.

Filing Deadlines for Electronic Filing Only

February 15, 2023: Recipient (Seller) Copy

March 31, 2023: IRS Submission

May 2, 2023: Final date to file an extension. How to file for an extension for Tax Year 2022

*Please Note: SoftPro suggests creating a 2022 IRS TAX file in early 2023 to ensure you have all 2022 purchases finalized and the IRS FIRE site is accepting 2022 IRS TAX files. 

The IRS now requires all 1099 filers to enter their TCC, EIN, and Business Name exactly as it currently appears in the FIRE system. To avoid a validation error and denied access to FIRE, we recommend logging into the FIRE site as soon as possible, prior to the March 31, 2023 1099 filing deadline.
